Fence damage from Windstorm 2013

With the 56 MPH winds that blew through on Monday, there is quite a bit of fence damage in our neighborhood.

The HOA Board of Directors realizes that many of the fences sustained damage requiring that they be repaired or replaced entirely.  As such, the Board will refrain from mailing violation notices to the affected members at this time.  However, by March 12, 2013 the Association will mail courtesy reminders to the owners who have not repaired satisfactorily or replaced their fences.  The Board appreciates you maintain your property to keep Springbrook Glen one of the nicest communities in Pflugerville.

Work with your neighbor(s) if you are in question as to who is supposed to maintain the damaged fence because it borders multiple lots.  It is an accepted practice for neighbors to share the costs of fence repair and replacement.

The best approach is to collaborate with your neighbor and share costs and work together.  If you can’t afford to hire a company to do the job, there are several helpful websites that have great tips on replacing fences on a budget.

Here’s a Youtube video of how to replace fence posts using the existing contrete base:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIKBsT_koYg

Good luck.

You’re giving us two weeks to get the fence replaced and/or fixed?? While I know the board would like for the neighborhood to maintain a great appearance, I think the board should also keep in mind the fact that some people suffered roof and fence damage and are dealing with insurance adjusters at the moment. Also, keep in mind that fences take time and money. Some of us have LARGE amounts of fence to replace and giving people two weekends to get it done is a short amount of time.

Thanks for posting Cassie. I too have quite a bit of fence to replace as well and I agree it will take time. If you need more time, please email Jack Baker (jack@camanagers.com) and explain your situation.
