Neighborhood Wide Garage Sale, May 22, 2010 from 8a-12p

Have some old stuff lying aroud in your garage? Dave Ramsey telling you to sell stuff? Well, Springbrook Glen is hosting a Neighborhood Wide Garage Sale is this weekenend, May 22, from 8a-12p. Put out your old stuff. Sell so much that the kids will think they are next. An ad has been posted on , so we hope to get a fair amound of traffic.

Leash Laws: A PSA

A reminder to all the dog owners in our area, HOA code and the City of Pflugerville have a Leash Law and scooping ordinance that prohibits pets to roam free and requires pet owners to pick up after their pets. Failure to comply carries with it a $500 fine in addition to the animal being sent to the pound if the owner cannot be contacted.

There have been several animals in our neighborhood that are allowed to run free without owner supervision and without proper collar identification and restraint. This behavior is not appropriate when children and lawn maintenance are in jeopardy from aggressive breeds and pets that dig newly planted flowers or mulch. Its one thing if the pet accidently gets out, but another if the pet roams the neighborhood free by the owner's choice.

Be neighborly and politely remind pet owners abusing these ordinances that these laws exist and you just saved them a potentially expensive fine. No neighbors want to have the Pflugerville PD involved in matters that are easily controlled through being good neighbors.

Bilingual Kindergarteners

Lisa Rogers just sent me a message that PISD still has spots available for the dual language program at Caldwell Elementary for fall 2010. This program is open to ANY kindergartner in the district. English speaking children in our neighborhood can learn to speak Spanish. Parents must agree to provide transportation. Here is a link for more information.

Springbrook Glen Easter Egg Hunt, April 3rd 2010, 11a-noon,

On Saturday April 3rd, 2010, Springbrook Glen residents can celebrate Easter in the Park with an Easter Egg hunt. The festivities will be from 11:00 am to noon. All kids are welcome. We will have two hunt areas: one for kids 4 and under and one for 5 year old+ kids. We will be taking pictures and should have them posted on the HOA website by April 4th or 5th.

We hope to see you all there!

Parents, as of this moment, we are planning on about 400 eggs and only have two people stuffing and hiding. If you can give us a hand, please contact Kristina or Steve Decovic via the Comments Page. We also would like to request volunteers to help with crowd control to keep the groups separate.

Pflugerville Easter Pfestival, March 27, 2010 12p-2p

The Pflugerville Easter Pfestival will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 from noon to 2 pm at Heritage Park. They plan on having an Easter egg hunt, free pictures with the Easter Bunny, pony rides, a petting zoo, kiddie train, moonwalk, and a clown making balloon shapes!

FREE TO THE PUBLIC RAIN OR SHINE!

In the event of rain, the egg hunt will be moved inside the Green Red Barn at the same location.

Grand Avenue Parkway lanes close Feb 9 for pipe installation

Starting Tuesday, February 9 (weather permitting) and for approximately two weeks through February 22, the two inner lanes of Grand Avenue Parkway will be closed while storm sewer pipe is laid under the road. To avoid peak traffic times, the lanes will have daytime closures from 9 am- 4 pm. For questions or concerns, please call 512-990-6340.

New Trash/Recycling Policy

As many of you know, the City of Pflugerville has now changed our collection days for garbage and recycling. The new Springbrook Glen garbage collection day will be once each week on Thursday beginning February, 4, 2010. Recycling will be picked up every other Thursday beginning on February 11,2010. The city asks you to please leave aproximately 5 ft. between your green and blue bins. For more information please contact the City of Pflugerville at 989-6100.
